Pokhara.  CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that people are more accustomed to tearing, chewing and swallowing ballot papers than winning the five-party alliance election.

Addressing an election rally in Pokhara on Monday, he instructed the people not to sleep until the counting of votes was completed.

Chairman Oli said, “The coalition will not win the election. Therefore, they are in the habit of tearing, chewing and swallowing ballot papers. They have done the same in Bharatpur before. So our friends, you should not sleep until the counting of votes is over. A monkey comes to Pashupati and grabs the basket. There are five monkeys here. Don’t let the ballot box be hidden from view. ‘

Chairman Oli also gave a stern reply to those who said that he was talking about proverbs while talking about scriptures. According to Chairman Oli, there are very few intellectuals in Nepal who understand what he has said.

‘There are very few intellectuals who understand what I mean. I’m talking about scriptures, they say proverbs. ‘

The good news, to relieve all this gloom, is that a democracy is inherently self-correcting. Here, the people are sovereign. Inept political leaders can be replaced. Foolish policies can be changed. Disastrous mistakes can be reversed.
