Kathmandu . Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the people are the ultimate judge of the political parties.
He said so referring to the November 20 election while addressing an election rally held in Kathmandu.
The Maoist Center Chairman viewed the election of the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Provincial Assembly (PA) as a referendum between progressive and regressive forces.
People are the ultimate judge. I believe the people know that the existing constitution and the achievements made so far are the results of the 70-year-long struggles and they need to be safeguarded by voting the progressive forces, he said.
The November 20 election is an opportunity to defeat the regressive forces and lead the country to a new era of economic development and prosperity, Chairman Prachanda viewed.
He observed that economic development has not taken speed in line with the political changes in the country. “Therefore, we have made an appeal to all on making development and prosperity the top agenda.”
“Our first agenda is development and prosperity. You obviously can support this. There should be no confusion to vote the candidate of the ruling coalition and those of us who are in the coalition were also the ones who forged the 12-point agreement in 2006 and then the Comprehensive Peace Accord for change and peace in the country,” said the Maoist Center Chairman.
He appealed to the people to vote for the coalition candidate for safeguarding the constitution and the rights of the oppressed and marginalized people and communities.
Saying that the November 20 election is not a normal poll, Chair Prachanda urged the people to vote for the coalition candidates so that no other movement will be required to defeat the regressive forces in the country.
